Surgical Scheduling Coordinator II-Radiology

As a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator II-Radiology, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our radiology department. Your primary responsibility will be to schedule surgeries and procedures for adult and pediatric patients, working closely with front office staff to ensure seamless patient care.
You will be responsible for verifying patient demographics, obtaining pre-certification from insurance carriers, and coordinating with referring physicians and surgeons to determine OR scheduling. Additionally, you will train and mentor other staff members, collect and distribute paperwork, and record hospital reservations and pre-admit data in our CERNER system.
Responsibilities- Coordinate all OR surgeries and procedures
- Monitor front office workflow and make adjustments to ensure optimal delivery of service
- Verify patient demographics and obtain pre-certification from insurance carriers
- Obtain patient medical clearance
- Resolve patient issues or answer questions regarding policies and procedures
- Place surgical confirmation calls 1 day in advance of scheduled surgery or procedure date
- Schedule post-op follow-up visits with providers
- Liaise between referring physicians and surgeons for communication of clinical data and OR scheduling
- Train and mentor other staff members
- Collect and distribute paperwork to coordinate surgeries
- Record hospital reservations and pre-admit data in CERNER system
