About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Coordinator Scheduling Specialist to join our team at Mount Sinai West. As a key member of our Otolaryngology department, you will be responsible for coordinating all OR surgeries and procedures, ensuring seamless communication between referring physicians and surgeons, and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all OR surgeries and procedures, verifying patient demographics and obtaining pre-certification from insurance carriers.
  • Record hospital reservation and pre-admit data in our institutional system, arranging patient pre-testing with appropriate departments and obtaining patient medical clearance.
  • Place surgical confirmation calls in advance of scheduled surgery or procedure date, serving as a liaison between referring physicians and surgeons.
  • Collect and distribute appropriate paperwork to internal and external parties to coordinate surgeries, scheduling post-operative follow-up visits with providers.
  • Perform other related duties, including managing and coordinating the activities of employees, supervising employees to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.
