Lead Electrical Cost Consultant – Manufacturing Construction

We are currently in search of a seasoned Lead Electrical Cost Consultant to serve as the primary point of contact and to facilitate large-scale technical commercial projects, ensuring exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive estimating and cost planning services, including the development and presentation of final cost plans.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in estimating at conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
  • Assist in conducting feasibility studies and preparing procurement reports.
  • Oversee all procurement activities, including managing pre-qualification stages, creating bid lists, conducting bid analyses, and compiling contractual documentation.
  • Engage effectively in post-contract cost variance assessments and change control processes, referring significant changes to management as necessary.
  • Manage cost verification and perform valuations on larger projects, ensuring a timely and precise cost checking and valuation process.
  • Prepare monthly post-contract cost reports and present findings to clients.
  • Contribute to value engineering initiatives; negotiate and finalize accounts.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and other consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Provide leadership to the cost management team as needed, ensuring accountability in all deliverables.
  • Identify and report opportunities for business development with existing clients, utilizing marketing databases effectively.
  • Propose enhancements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, referring ideas to management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience in large-scale commercial real estate or comparable construction projects.
  • Strong technical background in all areas of cost management, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account processes.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other relevant software.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Thorough understanding of various construction procurement methods.
  • Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Familiarity with key aspects of business development.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience across multiple industry sectors.

Education:

  • A college degree in Engineering, Construction Management with a Technical Focus, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in commercial and high-tech real estate construction.
  • A solid understanding of electrical systems as they pertain to construction projects.
  • Experience with electrical systems in a construction context is advantageous.
