Role Summary:
Draper is in search of a Production Engineer to assist in a fast-paced, time-sensitive program, ensuring that products align with program requirements. This role demands a candidate with meticulous attention to detail, a commitment to processes, and a strong sense of rigor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor hardware to guarantee milestone satisfaction while maintaining real-time status awareness.
  • Support the planning and execution of baseline hardware deliveries, ensuring accurate configuration history to facilitate integration, testing, and ongoing processing of innovative dynamic systems within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Utilize engineering expertise to develop and review comprehensive work instructions, guiding skilled labor in implementing necessary changes.
  • Exhibit exceptional organizational skills to oversee hardware manufacturing schedules and milestones, accelerating the flow of hardware through repair, inspection, and testing phases.
  • Assist in troubleshooting faults and generating rework instructions as needed, ensuring that build and maintenance documentation is thorough and accurately reflects all repair, testing, and integration activities.


Job Duties:

  • Employ Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to develop product concepts.
  • Gather necessary materials or resources for product design.
  • Conduct usability and safety testing on products.
  • Supervise the manufacturing and production processes to establish standards.
  • Define approaches to address specific challenges and independently carry out assigned tasks.
  • Contribute high-quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal oversight.
  • Proactively identify design and manufacturing needs and concerns, communicating them effectively to project leadership.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • A curiosity-driven mindset for solving complex, customer-focused challenges as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, program leadership, and non-technical personnel.
  • A team-oriented individual capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing tasks and priorities.
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Product Engineering or a similar role.

Additional Information:
Selected candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
