Job Description Summary:

Draper is looking for a Production Engineer to support a fast-paced, time-sensitive program, ensuring that products align with program requirements. This role demands a meticulous individual with a strong focus on detail, process adherence, and control measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor hardware to ensure milestone satisfaction while maintaining up-to-date status awareness.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of baseline hardware deliveries, keeping accurate configuration histories to facilitate integration, testing, and ongoing processing of unique dynamic systems within a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Utilize engineering expertise to develop and review comprehensive work instructions, guiding skilled labor in implementing necessary changes.
  • Employ exceptional organizational skills to manage hardware manufacturing schedules and milestones, streamlining the hardware flow through repair, inspection, and testing phases.
  • Assist in troubleshooting faults and creating rework instructions as needed, ensuring that build and maintenance documentation is thorough and accurately reflects all repair, testing, and integration activities.
Job Duties:

  • Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to develop product concepts.
  • Gather necessary materials or resources for product design.
  • Conduct usability and safety testing on products.
  • Oversee the manufacturing and production processes to establish standards.
  • Define problem-solving approaches and execute assignments independently.
  • Contribute high-quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal supervision.
  • Proactively identify and communicate needs and concerns related to design and manufacturing decisions to project leadership.
Skills and Abilities:

  • A curiosity-driven approach to addressing complex, customer-focused challenges as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective and open collaboration and communication with team members, program leadership, and non-technical personnel.
  • A team-oriented mindset capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple competing tasks and demands.
Education:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:
3-5 years of experience in Product Engineering or a related discipline.

Additional Information:
