Role Summary:
Draper is on the lookout for a Production Engineer to contribute to a fast-paced, time-sensitive program, ensuring that products align with program requirements. This role demands a meticulous individual with a strong focus on detail, rigorous adherence to established processes, and effective control measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor hardware progress to guarantee milestone achievements while maintaining up-to-date status awareness.
- Assist in strategizing and executing baseline hardware deliveries, ensuring accurate configuration history to facilitate integration, testing, and ongoing processing of unique dynamic systems within multidisciplinary teams.
- Utilize engineering expertise to develop and assess detailed work instructions, while guiding skilled labor in implementing necessary changes.
- Exhibit exceptional organizational capabilities to oversee hardware manufacturing timelines and milestones, streamlining the flow of hardware through repair, inspection, and testing phases.
- Support fault resolution and the creation of rework instructions as needed, ensuring that build and maintenance documentation is comprehensive and accurately reflects all repair, testing, and integration history.
Job Duties:
- Employ Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to generate product concepts.
- Collect necessary materials or resources for product design.
- Evaluate product usability and safety through rigorous testing.
- Supervise the manufacturing and production processes to establish quality standards.
- Define problem-solving approaches and independently carry out assigned tasks.
- Contribute high-quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal oversight.
- Proactively identify design and manufacturing concerns and communicate them effectively to project leadership.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A curiosity-driven mindset for tackling complex, customer-focused challenges as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate openly and effectively with team members, program leadership, and non-technical staff.
- A team-oriented individual capable of thriving in a dynamic environment while managing multiple competing priorities.
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in Product Engineering or a similar discipline.
Additional Information:
Applicants selected for this role will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
