Job Summary

Tenneco Manufacturing North America is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering group, you will be responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the plants manufacturing control and data acquisition systems.
  • Develop and integrate operator interfaces between manufacturing systems and users.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues with control systems including PLC programming, interface systems, and PC controlled systems.
  • Revise equipment programs as necessary to support manufacturing process improvements.
  • Develops the planned maintenance of all manufacturing electrical infrastructure.
  • Train designated personnel in the operation and maintenance of programmable logic controllers and manufacturing networks.
  • Manage Projects from conception through completion.
  • Prepare appropriation requests for the specification and purchase of new equipment and systems.
  • Develops budget(s) and timelines.
  • Facilitates cross-functional work teams.
  • Prepare TS16949 compliant instructions and necessary documentation.
  • Function as the liaison with manufacturing engineering on all equipment control and motion issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Technology field.
  • Five years' experience in manufacturing or product engineering.
  • Experience working with Allen Bradley, PLCs, HMIs, and RSLogix software.
  • Experience with programming and troubleshooting servo systems.
  • Experience with Robot interface (Motoman preferred).
  • Knowledge and experience with National Instrument Labview.
  • Knowledge of vision systems, Cognex and Keyence preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage a project(s) from conception through completion.
  • Ability to work well with plant personnel and vendor.
