Job Description Summary:
Draper is looking for a Production Engineer to contribute to a fast-paced, time-sensitive program, ensuring that products align with program requirements. This role demands a meticulous individual with a strong focus on detail, adherence to processes, and a commitment to quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor hardware to guarantee milestone achievement while maintaining up-to-date status awareness.
- Assist in the planning and execution of baseline hardware deliveries, ensuring accurate configuration history to support integration, testing, and ongoing processing of innovative dynamic systems within multidisciplinary teams.
- Utilize engineering expertise to develop and review comprehensive work instructions, guiding skilled labor in implementing necessary changes.
- Employ exceptional organizational skills to oversee hardware manufacturing schedules and milestones, facilitating the efficient flow of hardware through repair, inspection, and testing.
- Assist in troubleshooting faults and formulating rework instructions as needed, ensuring that build and maintenance documentation is thorough and accurately reflects all repair, testing, and integration history.
- Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to generate product concepts.
- Gather necessary materials or resources for product design.
- Conduct usability and safety testing of products.
- Oversee the manufacturing and production processes to establish standards.
- Define approaches to address specific challenges and independently carry out assignments.
- Contribute high-quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal supervision.
- Proactively identify needs and concerns related to design and manufacturing decisions, communicating them to project leadership.
- A curiosity-driven approach to resolving complex, customer-focused challenges as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, program leadership, and non-technical personnel.
- A team-oriented mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing tasks and demands.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in Product Engineering or a related discipline.
Additional Information:
Selected applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
