Position: Lead Cost Analyst

Employment Type: Full-Time (1st Shift)

Key Responsibilities

  • The Lead Cost Analyst is responsible for strategizing, organizing, and overseeing the inventory management and financial control functions for the designated facility, while also reporting operational outcomes and spearheading the budgeting and financial analysis processes.
  • Directs all cost analysis activities for the assigned facility, ensuring the maintenance of precise financial records and robust internal control systems.
  • Manages standard cost assessments for the facility, collaborating with operational staff to guarantee accurate bill of materials and routing maintenance.
  • Evaluates and verifies bills of materials for precision and validity.
  • Assesses all engineering modifications for their effects on bills of materials, material costs, and profit margins.
  • Contributes to the preparation of monthly and periodic financial evaluations, including variance assessments and management reporting.
  • Enhances the financial performance of the facility by analyzing actual results against forecasts, identifying trends, and suggesting profitable strategies.
  • Conducts specific month-end closing activities, primarily related to the facility's inventory and cost management.
  • Supports general accounting functions for the business unit's accounting team, including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany transactions, monthly financial reporting, and other necessary journal entries.
  • Delivers regular analytical insights and schedules to facility management and other departments.
  • Assists in the preparation of detailed monthly inventory reserve reports and collaborates with leadership to ensure the accuracy of reported inventories.
  • Conducts cost and projection analyses for new business ventures and existing client relationships, including pricing strategies for new projects and maintaining pricing for ongoing business.
  • Plays a pivotal role in coordinating with the facility's operational leadership to plan, execute, and document inventory counts and controls.
  • Collaborates with IT to ensure the provision of accurate and timely business data.
  • Engages in special projects to support various operational excellence initiatives aimed at controlling costs, enhancing profitability, and improving cash flow and efficiency within the facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance or manufacturing operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to work within a team environment.
  • Experience with Plex ERP is preferred.
