Position Summary:
As a Healthcare Contact Center Representative, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service to patients, referring providers, insurance companies, and other medical facilities. Your primary responsibility will be managing the scheduling of new patient appointments by efficiently handling a high volume of inbound calls and making outbound calls to patients who have expressed interest in our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inquiries from patients, providers, and insurance companies via an automated phone system, managing a high volume of calls daily.
  • Meet performance targets aligned with business objectives.
  • Assist existing patients with appointment rescheduling, medication requests, and other needs through effective communication.
  • Screen and direct patient calls to appropriate departments while ensuring accurate data entry into scheduling software.
  • Listen attentively to patient concerns, instilling trust and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Gather comprehensive clinical, demographic, and financial information during the scheduling process.
  • Collect relevant data to support timely follow-up and resolution of appointment requests.
  • Provide patients with necessary preparation and appointment instructions through various communication channels.
  • Recognize urgent situations and triage calls to the appropriate departments.
  • Process bill payments and perform other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and privacy policies in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced call center environment, managing a high volume of calls.
  • Excellent multitasking skills, including the ability to document calls while engaging with patients.
  • Experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1+ years of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.

Preferred:

  • College degree or relevant education in a related field.
  • Experience in sales-driven customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and scheduling processes.
  • Proficient in using multiple software applications simultaneously.
