Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Planner to join our team at ITW. As a Procurement Planner, you will be responsible for managing inventory across multiple sites, building inventory governance models, and setting inventory strategies to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of all materials across multiple sites to enable the team to make customized products and deliver to the customer on-time in-full.
  • Inventory Governance: Build the inventory governance model and set inventory strategies to achieve business goals with the customer in mind.
  • Inventory Replenishment: Manage Make to Stock (MTS) and Make to Order (MTO) processes and coordinate Inventory replenishment methods and quantities.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Take a data-driven approach and collaborate with buyers to order and to optimize inventory planning processes in our ERP system.
  • Inventory Discrepancies: Support identifying inventory discrepancies in warehouse and production areas and ensure the inventory is accurate in the ERP system.
  • Inventory Performance: Monitor excess, slow moving, and obsolete inventory and recommend disposition on a timely basis to ensure ITW targets are achieved.
  • Supply Chain Issues: Anticipate emergency conditions such as supply chain issues or shutdowns and take necessary actions to reduce their effect on operations.
  • Inventory Performance Metrics: Monitor inventory performance against plan and initiate actions where variances arise. Take corrective action on those items that are not within established inventory levels.
  • Data Analytics: Perform data analytics, devise and report KPIs to drive inventory performance and optimize storage costs.
  • ECO Process: Participate in weekly ECO (Engineering Change Order) process to evaluate revision, WIP (Work in Process) and impact to production.
  • New Product Introduction: Support New Product Introduction planning, BOM reviews, part and assembly cost set ups.
  • Cost Reduction: Participates in the plants cost reduction.
  • Purchasing: Position may/will purchase materials, parts, equipment, and services.
  • BOM Structure Analysis: BOM structure analysis.
  • Part Obsolescence: Planning for part obsolescence.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Education BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, related area or equivalent.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Industry Knowledge: Must have knowledge of industry, demand planning, inventory planning, item life cycle management.
  • Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of sourcing / procurement experience.
  • Background: Background in Cost Reduction and Process Improvement initiatives.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Robust interpersonal skills with an emphasis on problem solving, conflicting objectives, and dealing with multiple customers and various priorities.
  • Accounting Principles: Familiar with basic accounting principles.
  • Analytical Skills: Analytical mindset with ability to navigate through data.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • ERP Experience: Experience working with any ERP.
  • Kanban Inventory: Kanban inventory knowledge.
