Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining weekly visibility on part shortages, attending daily production meetings, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain weekly visibility on part shortages to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Attend daily production meetings to report on supply chain status and advise on delivery deviations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to expedite critical purchased items and ensure quality standards are met.
- Produce required correspondence to expedite critical purchased items and revise or change purchase orders as necessary.
- Coordinate activities with the Category Manager and Instron Engineering to resolve technical issues or problems with suppliers.
- Handle adjustments with vendors involving replacement of materials not conforming to purchase specifications, return of material declared surplus, cancellations of orders, etc.
- Publish monthly metrics to Sourcing and Supply Chain on Vendor on-time performance.
- Responsible for purchasing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures.
- Identify potential suppliers and issue requests for quotations.
- Analyze and select suppliers and issue purchase orders; follow-up and expedite as necessary.
- Investigate and qualify suppliers, monitor market trends and conditions.
- This is an intermediate-level position responsible for purchasing $6 to $10 million per year in raw materials/goods.
- Ensure work maintains data integrity within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.
- May negotiate supplier agreements under the direction of Supply Chain leadership, perform other duties as assigned by Supply Chain Leadership, effectively monitor contract compliance.
- Ability to support Enterprise Procurement programs, collaborate smoothly with all disciplines of the Procurement.
- Utilize supply Chain tools to report contract status and performance, collaborate with other Supply Chain functions to perform work in an efficient and effective manner.
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proven Excel and analytical skills required.
- Effective communication skills both written and oral.
- Flexible, able to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
- Must be analytical and detail-oriented.
- Understanding of electronics.
- Good people skills to interact effectively with vendors and internal contacts from all areas of the company.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Go-getter personality.
- Responsible for $6 - $10M budget.
- Experience and open to work with multiple commodities, as the team is commodity-based.
