Position Overview:

The Procurement Planner will oversee the inventory of materials across various locations to ensure the team can produce customized products and deliver them to customers punctually and completely.

Key Responsibilities:


In collaboration with the Operations and Finance teams, you will develop an inventory governance framework and establish inventory strategies aimed at fulfilling business objectives while prioritizing customer satisfaction.


You will manage Make to Stock (MTS) and Make to Order (MTO) processes, coordinating inventory replenishment methods and quantities effectively.


Utilizing a data-driven approach, you will work alongside buyers to place orders and enhance inventory planning processes within our ERP system.


Your role will include identifying inventory discrepancies in warehouse and production areas, ensuring that inventory records in the ERP system are accurate.


You will monitor excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory, providing timely recommendations for disposition to meet ITW targets.


Proactively anticipating emergency situations such as supply chain disruptions or shutdowns, you will take necessary actions to mitigate their impact on operations.


Regularly assessing inventory performance against established plans, you will initiate corrective actions for items that deviate from set inventory levels.


Engaging in data analytics, you will create and report KPIs to enhance inventory performance and optimize storage costs.


Participation in the weekly Engineering Change Order (ECO) process will be required to evaluate revisions, Work in Process (WIP), and their impact on production.


You will also support New Product Introduction planning, Bill of Materials (BOM) reviews, and part and assembly cost setups.


Contributing to cost reduction initiatives within the plant will be part of your responsibilities.


This position may involve purchasing materials, parts, equipment, and services as needed.


Conducting BOM structure analysis and planning for part obsolescence will also be essential.


Familiarity with PowerBI (or similar tools) is advantageous.


Holding certifications such as APICS, CPSM, or CSCP is a plus.


Qualifications:

What You Will Bring:
Education: BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is essential.

Proficiency in industry practices, demand planning, inventory management, and item life cycle management is required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sourcing or procurement is expected.

A background in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives is preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on problem-solving, managing conflicting objectives, and addressing multiple customer priorities are vital.

Basic understanding of accounting principles is beneficial.

An analytical mindset with the ability to navigate through data is crucial.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

Experience with any ERP system is required.

Knowledge of Kanban inventory systems is advantageous.
