Position: Senior Software Architect Engineer

A prominent Medical Device organization is seeking a Senior Software Architect Engineer to spearhead the evolution of software architecture from the existing surgical planning system to an advanced generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizes architectural expertise to create a robust and comprehensive software development platform for the design and deployment of multiple leading surgical planning software applications along with associated data management processes.
- Leverages extensive knowledge in software engineering, open-source and commercial toolkits, data processing and visualization, user experience management, and cloud-based infrastructures to optimize performance across various hardware.
- Develops and implements structured hierarchies for independent software modules, applying modern design patterns and best practices. Mentors team members in software design methodologies.
- Refines and packages both existing and new functionalities for organizational use.
- Collaborates with clinical users and subject matter experts to gain insights into the surgical planning domain, particularly for orthopedic procedures.
- Operates within a quality system framework to generate necessary technical and regulatory documentation.
- Creates and executes development plans aligned with departmental objectives.
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, accompanied by over 5 years of experience in software architecture.
- In-depth experience with C++ programming and application design methodologies.
- Proficient in utilizing open-source and commercial toolkits for data management, processing, and visualization, with familiarity in 3D Slicer project architecture considered advantageous.
- Experience in developing deployable data management workflows and relational databases, with a strong comfort level in designing configuration and version management strategies.
- Knowledge of modern user interface and experience design tools, such as Qt.
- Experience in medical image data processing, particularly with CT scan data, is a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments and design controls is beneficial.
- Strong organizational capabilities and excellent communication and documentation skills are essential.
