Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizes architectural expertise to create a robust and comprehensive software development framework for the design and deployment of high-quality surgical planning applications and associated data management systems.
- Brings a wide-ranging background in software engineering, leveraging both open-source and commercial toolkits, data visualization, user experience optimization, and cloud-based infrastructures to enhance software performance and reliability.
- Develops and implements structured designs for independent software modules, applying modern design patterns and best practices. Mentors team members in software design methodologies.
- Refines and organizes existing and new functionalities for organizational use, ensuring modularity and reusability.
- Collaborates with clinical professionals and subject matter experts to gain insights into the surgical planning domain, particularly in orthopedic procedures.
- Operates within a quality management system to generate necessary technical and regulatory documentation.
- Creates and executes development strategies aligned with departmental objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, with over 5 years of experience in software architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of C++ programming and application design methodologies.
- Proven experience with both open-source and commercial data management and visualization toolkits, such as ITK and VTK; familiarity with 3D Slicer architecture is advantageous.
- Experience in designing deployable data management workflows and working with transactional and relational databases.
- Proficient in modern user interface design and user experience methodologies, particularly with tools like Qt.
- Experience in medical image data processing, especially with CT scan data, is a plus.
- Understanding of regulatory environments, design controls, and submission processes is beneficial.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, along with excellent documentation capabilities, are essential.
