Position Title: Senior Software Architect Engineer
Employment Type: Permanent
Location: San Jose, CA
MIT RESOURCE is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Architect Engineer to spearhead the evolution of our software architecture for advanced surgical planning systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizes architectural expertise to create a robust and comprehensive software development framework for the design and deployment of high-quality surgical planning applications and associated data management solutions.
- Leverages extensive knowledge in software engineering, utilizing both open-source and proprietary toolkits, data processing, visualization techniques, user experience design, and cloud-based infrastructures to enhance software performance and reliability.
- Develops and implements structured hierarchies for independent software components, applying modern design patterns and best practices. Provides mentorship to team members in software design methodologies.
- Refines and organizes existing functionalities and new features for cross-organizational use.
- Collaborates with clinical professionals and subject matter experts to gain insights into the surgical planning domain, particularly for orthopedic procedures.
- Operates within a quality management framework to generate necessary technical and regulatory documentation.
- Formulates and executes development strategies aligned with departmental objectives.
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in software architecture.
- Proficient in C++ programming and application design methodologies.
- Significant experience with both open-source and commercial data management and visualization toolkits, such as ITK and VTK; familiarity with 3D Slicer architecture is advantageous.
- Experience in designing deployable data management workflows, including transactional and relational databases, as well as multi-client software systems.
- Knowledge of modern user interface and experience design tools, particularly Qt.
- Experience in medical image data processing, especially with CT scan data, is a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards, design controls, and 510(k) submission processes is beneficial.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills are essential.
