Strategic Recruitment Initiatives Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Coordinator of Strategic Recruitment Initiatives at SUNY Maritime College plays a pivotal role in shaping the college's recruitment and admissions processes. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions, this position is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of recruitment and admissions processes for EOP students from inquiry through enrollment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the College in recruitment activities, providing knowledgeable, friendly, and effective interactions with prospective students and their families.
- Assist in all aspects of the campus visit program, including daily campus tours, select on-campus events, and special tours to deliver a high-quality experience to prospective students and their families.
- Attend all on-campus events, including evening and weekend events, to foster a strong connection with prospective students and their families.
- Effectively manage an assigned recruitment territory/cohort(s) and develop comprehensive plans for travel and outreach aligned with the institution's strategic priorities.
- Conduct informative sessions (in-person or virtual) to various audiences, providing valuable insights into academic programs, admissions requirements, educational funding, and student life.
- Build strong relationships with prospective students and families, school counselors, community colleges, and community-based organizations to promote the college's mission and values.
- Counsel and communicate with prospective students about academic programs, admissions requirements, educational funding, Regiment of Cadets, and student life.
- Render admission decisions consistent with the college's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
- Serve as the liaison to the EOP department within the Office of the Provost for seamless new student enrollment.
- Respond to all inquiries and provide accurate information in a timely manner.
- Provide office support by assisting in the execution of the communication plan, visiting with prospective students during campus visits, and providing call support.
- Maintain and manage confidential information and records in dealing with sensitive personal, academic, and financial information.
- Develop, execute, and evaluate new initiatives for the recruitment of EOP and diverse populations.
- Build and maintain relationships with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and SUNY Maritime's STEM Outreach Coordinator.
- Work closely with all campus constituents to enroll new students.
- Perform other duties as assigned that are appropriate for the position.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree
- 2-3 years of professional college admissions experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, Student Information System (SIS)
- Knowledge of using web-based platforms
- Self-directed, works well independently and in a group capacity
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
- Valid Driver's License and ability to lift 50lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- 1-2 years of professional college admissions experience working with low-income and diverse student populations
- Knowledge of Opportunity Programs, such as EOP, HEOP, SEEK, ASAP, etc.
- Strength in data analysis, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving
Additional Information:
The Coordinator of Strategic Recruitment Initiatives is a United University Professional position. The anticipated salary range for the position is $53,000.00 to $58,000.00 annually, with an outstanding benefits package. For more information, please see the Full-Time UUP Benefits Summary. This is a full-time calendar year appointment UUP Position. Fair Labor Standard Acts (FLSA) Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
