Construction Internship Opportunity

The Matthews Group, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Intern to join our team. As a Construction Intern, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our Project Management team and support all phases of the day-to-day activities required to deliver construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the processing of shop drawings, RFI's, document control, change management, and other related activities.
  • Support the project management team in the creation, updating, and maintenance of project controls, including tracking project status, changes, and quality controls.
  • Work with subject matter experts to review and process shop drawings and submittals.
  • Support the change management process by learning how to update logs, route source documents to vendors, and develop estimates and proposals.
  • Assist in the estimating process by learning how to perform quantity surveys using digitizers and 3D modeling software.
  • Participate in the process of establishing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules.
  • Develop an understanding of contract terms and legal requirements to prevent rework and delays.
Requirements:
  • Current student pursuing a B.S. degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of spreadsheets, email, and other software used in the construction industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and possess a positive can-do attitude and customer focus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
