Construction Development Associate

The Matthews Group, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Intern to join our team. As a Construction Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry and develop a deeper understanding of the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Project Management team in all phases of project delivery, including estimating, negotiation, contracting, and closeout.
- Support the creation, updating, and maintenance of project controls, including tracking project status, changes, and RFI's.
- Work with subject matter experts to review and process shop drawings and submittals.
- Assist in the change management process, including updating logs, routing source documents, and developing estimates and proposals.
- Support the estimating process by performing quantity surveys and summarizing scope and quantities of work.
- Participate in the process of establishing, monitoring, and communicating project schedules.
- Develop an understanding of contract terms and legal requirements to prevent rework and delays.
- Current student pursuing a B.S. degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of spreadsheets, email, and other software used in the construction industry.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and possess a positive can-do attitude and customer focus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
