We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to multi-discipline design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Leesburg, VA.

This person will have the opportunity to lead a variety of public and private site development projects, working on diverse and challenging projects while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary group of talented Engineers and Designers on projects for various clients across various markets.

This person will be expected to perform a wide range of tasks depending on their technical and organizational skills, including working on the design and planning for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater planning, drainage/erosion/sediment control design, utility design, plan reviews, code review, feasibility studies, permitting, and report preparation.

Primary Responsibilities:


Manage multiple projects and tasks, monitoring schedules and budgets to ensure effective completion of projects and client satisfaction.

Meet regularly with clients.

Assist with the preparation of proposals for new and existing clients, including estimation of project fees.

Oversee the development of Land Development Plans, including the preparation of engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports from schematic design through construction.

Coordinate permits through regulatory agencies for large-scale, complex projects.

Delegate workload to Junior Engineers and Drafters, mentoring and guiding Junior Engineers to develop Stormwater Management strategies, Utility Coordination, and Erosion and Sediment Control Design.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

7+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with Land Development design projects.

PE license in VA, or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications:

Management and/or Project Management experience, with proven ability to manage multi-discipline projects.

Experience working on brownfield and greenfield projects.

Advanced proficiency with site design functions, including site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, erosion control, municipal and land-use regulatory approvals.

Experience working with stormwater management, especially using Hydrology and Hydraulics modeling tools.

Proficiency with engineering/CADD tools, expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.

Proficiency with standard office and project management software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 and Bluebeam Revu.

Proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging team environment as a collaborative Team Player, with excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills.
