Job Summary:

As a skilled Estimator at Aimic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of project estimates. Your expertise will be essential in analyzing RFPs, RFQs, and construction documents to validate project requirements. You will solicit bids from materials suppliers and subcontractors, complete quantity and material take-offs using AGTEK software, and collaborate with CAD technicians and in-house personnel to compile material take-offs, vendor quotes, and subcontractor bids. Your attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with Owners, Engineers, municipalities, and governing authorities will be vital in providing accurate cost estimates. You will also prepare detailed itemized cost estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid software, develop critical path schedules, and coordinate with Project Management to assist with change orders, plan revisions, and warranty close-outs for awarded projects. Additionally, you will manage bid document control, participate in project hand-off meetings, and support Senior Estimator and management in pursuing new stakeholders and bid opportunities. Key Responsibilities:

Analyze RFPs, RFQs, and construction documents to validate project requirements
Solicit bids from materials suppliers and subcontractors
Complete quantity and material take-offs using AGTEK software
Collaborate with CAD technicians and in-house personnel to compile material take-offs, vendor quotes, and subcontractor bids
Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and identify potential problems or challenges
Prepare and submit RFIs in a timely manner for additional information or clarification to complete estimates within deadlines
Communicate with Owners, Engineers, municipalities, and governing authorities to provide accurate cost estimates
Prepare detailed itemized cost estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid software
Develop critical path schedules and any necessary exhibits for submission with estimates
Coordinate with Project Management to assist with change orders, plan revisions, and warranty close-outs for awarded projects
Manage bid document control, including correspondence, vendor quotes, subcontractor bids, and take-offs for seamless transfer to Project Management
Participate in project hand-off meetings with Project Management to discuss project scope, limitations, exclusions, site-specific issues, and potential challenges
Support Senior Estimator and management in pursuing new stakeholders and bid opportunities

Qualifications:

Ability to work within a team setting that includes mentoring and/or coaching direct and indirect reports
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors
Computer proficient (programs include Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, HCSS Heavy Bid, AGTEK, Bluebeam)
Previous estimating experience with Site Development and Heavy Civil Construction preferred (Earthwork, Utility Installation, Roadway Infrastructure)
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management a plus
