We are actively seeking a skilled Light Equipment Technician. The primary duties of this role involve servicing, repairing, and maintaining the organization’s small tools and light machinery.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on various light machinery and tools, including plate tampers, jumping jacks, saws, submersible and centrifugal pumps, generators, and light plants.
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn components.
  • Conduct maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on small gas and diesel engines.
  • Test equipment post-repair or assembly to ensure optimal performance and adherence to operational specifications.
  • Inspect and check in tools and equipment returned to the warehouse for functionality and condition, performing repairs as necessary.
  • Document service activities and order required parts.
  • Occasionally deliver tools and equipment to various job sites.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in maintaining and repairing small tools and light machinery.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of small engines, general repair, and maintenance of light equipment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics along with service manuals to diagnose issues effectively.
  • A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Possession of personal mechanic's tools (basic hand and air tools) is required.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including the potential for overtime and weekend work as needed.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with email and intranet usage.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.

This role requires working outdoors in various environmental conditions and performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods. The position involves lifting and/or carrying up to 100 lbs, standing, walking on uneven surfaces, and performing various physical activities such as climbing, kneeling, bending, twisting, and crawling in confined spaces.
