**Job Overview**
Olivier Cheng Catering and Events seeks an accomplished Culinary Development Chef to spearhead the creation of innovative menu items and standardized recipes for production.
The successful candidate will possess a strong culinary background, excellent flavor profile understanding, and the ability to drive internal innovation from a culinary perspective.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly creative and innovative individual with a deep understanding of recipe standardization, batching, and finalization for production. The ideal candidate will have a strong experimental discipline, excellent taste perception, and the ability to provide quality feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new menu items, identifying trends and incorporating new ingredients to drive luxury hospitality brand growth.
- Prepare and present samples plates for tasting and feedback, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
- Adapt recipes for production, considering process techniques and shelf life, while maintaining accurate food specifications and allergen identification.
- Work closely with the executive team and sales reps to relay needs and information, ensuring seamless communication across departments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of kitchen experience, including Michelin-starred restaurants and high-end caterers.
- Formal culinary training preferred, with a strong understanding of food science and ingredient functionality.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to collaborate across the culinary team.
- Proficient in MS Office and recipe software.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
