Position Overview
This role is pivotal in overseeing the implementation and continuous management of risk initiatives under the guidance of the Group Manager, Central Operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Central Operations management teams to pinpoint and document risk areas along with mitigating controls.
- Identify Key Risk Indicators and assist management in monitoring and testing these controls.
- Coordinate various risk assessments, including Risk and Control Self Assessments, third-party risk evaluations, fraud control assessments, and compliance risk assessments, ensuring all outstanding items are tracked to resolution.
- Provide expert risk management support for Central Operations while liaising with Division Risk Managers and other second-line risk partners, including Operational and Enterprise Risk Management teams, Regulatory Compliance, Business Continuity, IT Risk, and Third Party Risk.
- Supervise operational and system audits within Central Operations departments and offer support during regulatory examinations.

What You Will Do
- Implement and uphold an operational risk management framework that identifies key risk indicators and conducts risk and control self-assessments, developing actionable plans with follow-up tracking.
- Generate risk management reports to monitor the risk profile of Central Operations.
- Work alongside unit Operations Managers to design, document, and implement necessary controls and process maps.
- Manage the testing of controls under various risk assessment programs, ensuring any identified gaps are tracked and resolved.
- Oversee audits and examinations of Central Operations departments and assist in formulating management responses while tracking outstanding items to ensure timely closure.
- Support Central Operations departments in addressing enterprise-wide regulatory findings.
- Collaborate with Regulatory Compliance, Legal, and other departments to assess the applicability of new legislation or regulations to departmental operations.
- Act as a risk management advisor in the development of new or modified products and operational processes.
- Assist the Group Manager in various bank committees, councils, and task forces.
- Conduct research and analysis on regulatory and industry operational developments, providing guidance to management teams on relevant matters.
- Develop project plans, maintain detailed task lists for each project, and provide periodic updates as necessary.
- Analyze risk metrics and performance data from internal sources, designing or revising workflow processes, updating policies, and enhancing systems to safeguard the bank.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of operational experience in a financial institution.
- At least 3 years of experience in operational risk management control design, testing, or auditing within a financial institution.
- A minimum of 2 years in a leadership or project management capacity.

Skills and Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of risks associated with banking operations and payment systems, along with industry best practices.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to financial institutions, particularly concerning deposits, operations, and related financial and security controls.
- Familiarity with audit standards and payment network requirements.
- Ability to work independently while progressing towards established goals.
- Excellent analytical, project management, and organizational skills, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in desktop applications such as MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Capacity to analyze complex situations, provide guidance, and make informed recommendations.

Compensation
Starting base salary ranges from $92,114 to $156,880 annually, with variations based on skills, experience, and location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and/or commissions.
