Key Responsibilities:

Process and Equipment Optimization:

Improve the longevity and quality of serial production equipment. Minimize equipment and process downtime, scrap rates, and other inefficiencies. Leverage Big Data analytics to proactively identify performance challenges.

Efficiency Improvement:

Implement statistical techniques to enhance operational efficiency. Coordinate operator functions with machinery, materials, information, and energy on the production floor.

Research and Development:

Investigate and evaluate design concepts for viability. Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to foster innovation, corrective measures, and ongoing improvement initiatives.

Documentation and Process Maintenance:

Develop, revise, and sustain manufacturing process documentation, including flow charts, parameter sheets, capacity studies, time and motion analyses, standard operating procedures, cycle time assessments, and line balancing. Establish efficient concepts and equipment, resilient processes, and superior quality aligned with customer expectations. Achieve SMT Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets for each production line.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

Partner with Design Engineering and New Product teams on Change Management and Document Control. Collaborate with Vitesco Tech Networks to drive improvements and share knowledge. Work alongside Production Management and Maintenance teams to boost new line performance. Assess equipment and process performance across various locations, focusing on scrap rates, OEE, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), First Pass Yield (FPY), etc. Implement and disseminate improvement strategies to similar processes and Vitesco standards. Revise process parameter sheets to ensure robustness in production. Enhance work instructions and provide relevant training. Support launch initiatives in the industrialization of new and complex manufacturing processes. Conduct Design of Experiments (DoEs) to explore interactions among equipment, environment, operators, materials, and designs. Identify and enhance non-robust equipment, processes, and designs for future applications.

Technology and Knowledge Management:

Stay informed about cutting-edge manufacturing technologies in related fields. Continuously evaluate technology sectors and related areas for enhancements in performance and quality. Attend technical conferences, trade shows, and supplier meetings for knowledge exchange and collaboration. Offer recommendations to management and team members to improve product and process technologies. Mentor and develop the current Industrial Engineering team in structured problem-solving, statistical analysis, and Industrial Engineering methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, DoE).

Statistical and Data Science Expertise:

Employ statistical methods and Data Science for comprehensive data analysis and AI solutions. Utilize Manufacturing Execution System (MES) data for process control and enhancement. Ensure accurate reporting of process data.

Requirements:

Demonstrated ability to drive change and achieve objectives. 3-5 years of experience in SMT processes. 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
