Key Responsibilities:

Process and Equipment Optimization:

Improve the longevity and quality of production equipment and processes. Minimize downtime, scrap rates, and other inefficiencies in operations. Leverage Big Data analytics to proactively identify performance challenges.

Efficiency Improvement:

Employ statistical techniques to enhance operational efficiency. Coordinate operator tasks with machinery, materials, information, and energy on the production floor.

Research and Development:

Investigate and evaluate design concepts for practicality. Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to foster innovation and continuous improvement.

Documentation and Process Maintenance:

Develop, revise, and uphold manufacturing process documentation, including flow charts, parameter sheets, capacity studies, time studies, standard operating procedures, cycle time evaluations, and line balancing. Establish efficient concepts and equipment, resilient processes, and superior quality aligned with customer expectations. Achieve operational efficiency targets for each production line.

Collaboration and Enhancement:

Partner with Design Engineering and New Product teams on Change Management and Document Control. Collaborate with Vitesco Tech Networks for improvements and knowledge sharing. Work alongside Production Management and Maintenance teams to boost new line performance. Assess equipment and process performance across various locations, focusing on scrap rates, operational efficiency, mean time between failures, first pass yield, etc. Implement and disseminate improvement strategies to similar processes and Vitesco standards. Revise process parameter sheets for robustness in production. Enhance work instructions and facilitate related training. Support launch initiatives in the industrialization of new and complex manufacturing processes. Conduct Design of Experiments to explore interactions among equipment, environment, operators, materials, and designs. Identify and refine non-robust equipment, processes, and designs for future applications.

Technology and Knowledge Management:

Stay updated on cutting-edge manufacturing technologies relevant to the field. Continuously evaluate technology sectors for performance and quality enhancements. Attend technical conferences, trade shows, and supplier meetings for knowledge exchange and collaboration. Provide insights to management and team members to improve product and process technologies. Mentor and develop the current Industrial Engineering team in structured problem-solving, statistical methods, and related techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, Design of Experiments).

Statistical and Data Science Proficiency:

Apply statistical methods and data science for analysis and AI-driven solutions. Utilize Manufacturing Execution System data for process control and enhancement. Ensure accurate reporting of process data.

Requirements:

Demonstrated capability to drive change and achieve objectives. 3-5 years of experience in SMT processes. 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
