Job Overview:

Objective

The Field Engineer plays a vital role in supporting the Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Superintendent. The primary responsibilities include monitoring production, planning operations, and effectively communicating and organizing project data related to water and wastewater construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with site foremen and superintendents to ensure effective tracking and analysis of work plans to enhance field operations efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain, and report daily quantities of work completed.
  • Analyze and compare budgeted versus actual production rates and material yields.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs from project plans and reconcile weekly field quantities with planned quantities.
  • Assist in creating Work Activity Plans.
  • Provide monthly quantity reports to verify owner quantities and facilitate billing processes.
  • Ensure that field operations adhere to project standards and specifications.
  • Support project engineers and superintendents as needed.
  • Organize and maintain Plan Drawings, Revisions, and As-Builts.
  • Assist in maintaining comprehensive Project Logs.
  • Evaluate and monitor ordered quantities against budgeted materials.
  • Maintain the Notevault Diary and update the Project Engineer on scheduling.
  • Initiate and manage Field Operations Reports.
  • Develop Look Ahead Schedules in collaboration with the project superintendent.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings, including interactions with management and staff.
  • Interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is highly preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field will also be considered.
  • Proficient in Primavera 3 and 6.
  • Strong skills in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, self-motivate, and exhibit a passion for construction excellence.
  • Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts and utilize construction math.
  • Valid driver's license for occasional travel.
  • Capable of defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Adept at interpreting a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and managing abstract and concrete variables.
  • Moderate physical activity required, with some exposure to outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to navigate minor obstacles at construction sites.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient for handling items and performing tasks with fingers.
