Position Overview:

Objective

The Field Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Superintendent. The primary responsibilities include tracking production, planning operations, and managing project data for water and wastewater construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with foremen and superintendents to ensure effective tracking and analysis of work plans to enhance field operation efficiency.
  • Compile, maintain, and report daily quantities of work completed.
  • Evaluate and compare budgeted versus actual production rates and material yields.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs from project plans and reconcile weekly field quantities with planned quantities.
  • Assist in creating Work Activity Plans.
  • Generate monthly quantity reports for owner verification and billing purposes.
  • Ensure that field operations adhere to project standards and specifications.
  • Provide necessary support to project engineers and superintendents as needed.
  • Organize and maintain Plan Drawings, Revisions, and As-Builts.
  • Help maintain all Project Logs.
  • Monitor and compare ordered quantities with budgeted materials.
  • Keep the Notevault Diary updated and provide schedule updates to the Project Engineer.
  • Initiate and manage Field Operations Reports.
  • Develop Look Ahead Schedules in collaboration with the project superintendent.
  • Effectively present information in both one-on-one and small group settings, including interactions with management and staff.
  • Interpret various documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, procedure manuals, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is highly preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field will also be considered.
  • Proficient in Primavera 3 and 6.
  • Strong skills in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, be self-motivated, and possess a passion for construction excellence.
  • Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts, as well as construction math.
  • Valid driver's license for occasional travel requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a wide range of technical instructions in both mathematical and diagrammatic forms.
  • Moderate physical activity involved in primarily administrative tasks, with some exposure to outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to navigate minor obstacles at construction sites.
  • Manual dexterity to handle items and perform tasks with fingers.
