Reports To: Cemetery Manager

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00 pm

Position Overview: The Cemetery Associate I (CA I) plays a vital role in providing essential support services, including office reception, administrative tasks, and assisting families during their time of need. The CA I serves as the initial point of contact for clients and families, ensuring a compassionate and efficient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage phone communications, interoffice correspondence, and schedule appointments and services.
  • Provide courteous assistance to families visiting the office, ensuring their needs are met promptly.
  • Deliver general administrative support, including daily deposits, work orders, and filing tasks.
  • Assist families with the purchase of merchandise related to burial options.
  • Guide visitors seeking information about burial locations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of interments.
  • Maintain customer accounting software (Plotbox) by entering records and contracts as required.
  • Apply knowledge of cemetery policies to assist families and colleagues effectively.
  • Support the memorial application process as needed.
  • Address family concerns regarding cemetery policies with sensitivity.
  • Provide daily interment lists to other internal cemetery locations.
  • Prepare ownership documentation as necessary.
  • Assist with audit procedures and inventory management.
  • Support trust processing as required.
  • Maintain a tidy work environment and contribute to the upkeep of shared spaces.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and training to ensure a safe working environment for all.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of all information obtained during service, including client details and financial data.
  • Comply with the Code of Conduct and Faith and Moral Policy.
  • Engage in a solution-oriented approach in all interactions, fostering teamwork and commitment to the organization's mission.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an office setting providing customer service and administrative support.

Licenses and Credentials:

  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid vehicle insurance.

Essential Skills:

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with office equipment.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
