We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Service Representative to join our multidisciplinary department at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. Key Responsibilities- Front Desk Operations: Greet and assist patients, families, and staff at the check-in/out desk, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Registration and Scheduling: Accurately collect and analyze demographic, insurance, and clinical data to pre-register and register patients, and coordinate scheduling for initial evaluations and subsequent appointments.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Financial Services: Collect and process payments, manage cash collections, and provide financial guidance to patients to achieve mutually acceptable resolutions.
- Communication: Receive and respond to telephone, electronic, and face-to-face inquiries from patients and their representatives, and communicate effectively with staff and other departments.
- Education: Minimum of a GED or Diploma, Associate's degree preferred.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in data entry with high accuracy, and experience with computer systems and software.
- Customer Service: Excellent telephone and customer service skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interact with professional staff.
- Organizational Skills: Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.
- Experience: Minimum 12-18 months' work experience in healthcare, with scheduling and/or patient financial services related job duties.
- Coding Knowledge: Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding classification systems.
- Medical Terminology: Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical rehabilitation.
- Physical Ability: Able to exert up to 10-20 pounds of force occasionally, and sit for the majority of the time with brief periods of walking or standing.
- Keyboard Use: Able to use a keyboard frequently.
