The Service Writer is a key member of the Doggett team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our service department.
Key Responsibilities:- Customer Service: Provide accurate and timely information to customers regarding their service needs, schedule appointments, and add job information to work orders.
- Appraisal and Quote Process: Assist in the appraisal and quote process for equipment repair, ensuring that customers receive a clear understanding of the repair costs and services required.
- Parts and Labor Coordination: Coordinate with the Service Manager to ensure that parts and labor requirements are met for work orders, ensuring timely completion of repairs.
- Scheduling and Shop Operations: Assist in scheduling shop assignments, field service work, and delivery of equipment, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Work Procedures: Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules and deadlines, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
- Clerical Assistance: Provide clerical assistance, including data entry and correspondence, to support the service department.
- Customer Relations: Develop positive customer relationships by accurately communicating repair status and charges for equipment repairs, ensuring that customers are satisfied with the service provided.
- Phone and In-Person Support: Greet service customers, answer phone calls to schedule service appointments, and advise customers of estimated service and repair costs.
- Service/Repair Invoice Review: Review details of service/repair invoices to ensure customer understanding of services provided, and communicate progress of repair/service orders.
- Education: High school diploma required.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in an automotive/construction service administrator role.
- Skills: Strong computer skills, including experience with Excel, and excellent customer service/communication skills.
