Quality Validation Engineer

Ensures product acceptability, traceability, and documentation accuracy. Engages in various analytical audits, inspections, and product support tasks. Responsible for the evaluation of new tooling and components, implementing corrective measures, fostering continuous quality enhancement, and utilizing gaging instruments.

Collaborates closely with quality departments to minimize variations in company processes and guarantee that products meet all customer specifications.

Acts as a substitute for the QA Director when necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Develops the quality strategy, defines characteristics, and designs fixtures for the inspection of new tooling and components; liaises with customers and suppliers for decision-making and problem resolution; supports daily production while ensuring compliance with quality procedures; implements corrective actions as required.

Ensures product acceptability and traceability along with documentation accuracy.
Conducts various analytical, auditing, inspection, and product support activities.
Designs and sets up measurement fixtures and reviews for ongoing improvements.
Ensures compliance with documentation and quality-specific procedures, as well as quality technical certifications.
Provides inspection support across all levels in molding and assembly departments, including incoming inspections and tool evaluations.
Prepares first article data and characteristic accountability (PAPP)
Reviews material and processing certifications.
Trains personnel on quality-related tasks.
Participates in required training to achieve benchmark quality performance.
Completes tasks in a quality-focused manner to meet all internal and external customer expectations.
Performs duties safely and works towards achieving company safety objectives.
Acts as a substitute for the QA Director when necessary.
Suggests cost-saving initiatives and actively contributes to continuous improvement efforts.
Works towards achieving departmental and organizational goals.
Performs other related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Performs all duties and responsibilities of a Quality Engineer and Inspector, measuring and inspecting all dimensions on tools or parts to verify compliance with specifications.

Documents all inspections and maintains accurate records using Master files.
Recommends corrective actions on tools to meet specifications.

Conducts audits on molded parts during manufacturing, received parts, or final audits on finished products as required.

Assists inspectors and setup personnel with inspection techniques.

Engages in resolving product/tooling issues as they arise, making recommendations for changes or adjustments.
Possesses working knowledge of and proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Conducts audits on manufacturing production as assigned.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in high-pressure situations while attending required training to achieve benchmark quality performance.

Assists in training employees to perform quality tasks to meet production standards.

Participates in ISO audits or Customer Audits.

TRAINING:


Comprehensive understanding of quality assurance policies, inspection procedures, techniques, and measuring equipment related to tool evaluation and product layout inspection, as well as statistical analysis.

Knowledge of molding principles, SPC, Kaizen, PPAP, APQP, ISO 9001 audits, ECN, PGA, GD&T, CMM, and VMM machines, along with computer applications, special processes, machining, and plastic injection molding.

Excellent mathematical skills and a solid understanding of statistics as they apply to measurement.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Effective problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in blueprint interpretation and comprehensive understanding of GD&T.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaboratively with others in high-pressure situations.
Teaching others is a crucial aspect of this role to enhance performance.
Ability to maintain accurate records and document data.
Familiarity with various automotive tools, Control Plans, PPAP processes, Gauge R&R, Capability Studies, and PFMEAs.
Understanding gear data and measurements is advantageous.
Capability to write IQ, OQ, and PQ Medical Protocols and Reports.
Ability to compile and present PPAP Reports for customers.
Ability to comprehend, modify, recommend, and enhance measurement techniques as they relate to inspection or laboratory measurements.
A degree in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering along with 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, plastic molding, or equivalent.
