Position Overview

We are in search of a dedicated, innovative, and results-oriented professional to fulfill the role of Quality Engineer - Adhesives. This position is pivotal in ensuring that Dymax adhesives adhere to stringent quality and compliance standards through the practical application of quality process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical methodologies. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and innovation in quality assurance practices through the execution of internal audits, specification of inspection and testing mechanisms, analysis of production norms, and necessary revisions of specifications and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Engineer, you will:

  • Establish and Maintain Quality Standards: Develop quality assurance plans and procedures while collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to conduct training on quality concepts and tools.
  • Implement CAPA Plans: Define and execute effective Corrective Action and Preventive Action plans by analyzing quality issues with stakeholders to identify deviations, and coach colleagues in methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis and PFMEAs.
  • Conduct Inspections and Audits: Ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements through thorough inspections, audits, and the identification of improvement opportunities.
  • Validate Equipment Performance: Continually enhance the inspection, calibration, and testing of machinery to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Drive Process Efficiencies: Validate product manufacturing processes before and after commercialization, including testing of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Oversee Quality Improvement Initiatives: Investigate customer issues and audit findings to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Develop Statistical Standards: Establish quality and reliability benchmarks for finished products through data analysis and the implementation of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Manage Production Risks: Identify potential risks in production processes and develop strategies for mitigation, including inspection protocols for materials and products.
  • Enhance Quality Awareness: Foster a culture of quality responsiveness by engaging with various company functions, particularly in Operations Management and Supplier Quality.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A BA/BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, with a preference for chemical manufacturing.
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems, particularly IATF and ISO9001.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including familiarity with methodologies such as 5-Why and Fishbone diagrams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Minitab; experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and EtQ is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of QMS, PPAP, and Six Sigma methodologies.

Salary Range: $71,000 - $106,000

At Dymax, we take employee compensation seriously, considering various factors such as location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The listed salary range represents the low and high end of our compensation structure for this position.
