Job Summary

The Distributor Sales Consultant is responsible for providing the highest level of sales and service in their defined territory. They leverage Signode's high-performance packaging systems to provide a comprehensive packaging solution to our customers.

This position is based on the South-Central Region, with account sizes ranging from $12-16 million in sales volume.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sell through a consultative and solutions-driven method to provide a comprehensive packaging system to our customers.
  2. Meet or exceed sales goals by gaining new distributors and increasing shelf space with current customers utilizing all Signode products and services.
  3. Negotiate volume, contracts, and pricing agreements with principles and executives at key distribution accounts.
  4. Develop, document, and present the value of One Signode to our distribution network.
  5. Collaborate with other team members on account management, projects, or department initiatives.
  6. Work closely with Signode's Customer Service, Inside Sales, and Regional Sales Management Teams.
  7. Develop leads that mutually benefit Signode and our distribution partners.
  8. Coordinate sales activity from quote to sale close.
  9. Develop relationships with sales representatives in the field to provide pull-through sales.
  10. Arrange an effective Time and Territory Management Plan that maximizes sales efficiency and allows the proper balance of sales calls on existing accounts, target accounts, new accounts, and business development prospects.
  11. Conduct yourself in a manner that represents the Signode Values.
  12. Contribute information to the sales and marketing strategy by sharing distributor needs, market opportunities, and competitive area information.
  13. Document and present the Signode Value Proposition in the form of contribution to profit reports.
  14. Ability to train distributor representatives on application and product knowledge.
  15. Participate in Training & Development opportunities to continually improve, upgrade performance, experience career development, and advancement.
  16. Assist the A/R department in collecting past due balances and ensure your accounts are in good standing.
Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years outside consultative sales experience, industrial sales experience preferred. Distribution sales experience highly desirable.

Candidates must reside in any of the following locations: Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas; travel overnight – up to 65%.

Strong mechanical and manufacturing aptitude.

Ability to use a CRM and read dashboards on PowerBi, with general MS Office proficiency.

Strong technology skills with social media knowledge.
