Role Overview

The AVP of Client Relations is a pivotal role that involves direct interaction with clients while collaborating with a dedicated team of internal Producers (Advisors) to enhance and expand their portfolio. In this capacity, the AVP will facilitate communication between Producers and the Account Management team, ensuring a smooth renewal process for clients, supporting Producers in acquiring and promoting new business, and effectively leveraging NFP's resources to benefit our clients. This position demands a robust understanding of various commercial insurance lines, a proactive mindset, and exceptional communication and follow-up capabilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This opportunity is well-suited for a seasoned Senior Commercial Lines Account Executive seeking to advance into a more senior advisory role while serving as a liaison between Producers and the marketing team, as well as providing advisory services to clients. Candidates should possess experience managing larger middle-market accounts and complex property and casualty risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address and fulfill client requests and action items throughout the year, including:
    • Responding to inquiries regarding new coverage, gathering necessary information on new companies, acquisitions, or projects, and coordinating with marketing for quotes while ensuring accuracy.
  • Regularly meet with assigned Producers to strategize on renewals and communication plans, addressing any client concerns.

Renewal Business Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary communication link between Producers and the Account Management team to ensure timely progress of the renewal process; maintain a renewal calendar, conduct outreach, and provide effective updates to clients and advisors.
  • Present renewal proposals to clients, with or without the Producer's presence.
  • Document meeting outcomes and next steps, ensuring proper follow-through.

New Business Responsibilities:

  • Assist assigned Producers in obtaining complete submissions from prospects and follow up on open opportunities when submissions are incomplete.
  • Prepare and refine proposals from the Marketing team for presentation to prospects, with support from Producers.
  • Utilize Salesforce to enter and track leads for Producers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of commercial insurance coverage.
  • Ability to work autonomously and anticipate the needs of clients and team members.
  • Strong time management and decision-making skills.
  • Diligent follow-up abilities.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid office environment.
  • Ability to conduct client visits within the tri-state area and accommodate regional travel, which may be approximately 50%.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Over 8 years of experience in middle to large market commercial lines within the tri-state area.
  • Experience with EPIC and Salesforce systems is highly desirable; fluency in a comparable agency management system is required if not familiar with EPIC.

Licenses and Certifications

  • P&C Insurance Broker's license is mandatory.
