Company Overview: TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a dedicated Systems Administrator II.

Position Summary: The Systems Administrator II is responsible for the upkeep, enhancement, and management of our software, hardware, and network systems. This role requires a resourceful individual capable of swiftly diagnosing and resolving issues while effectively communicating with various interdisciplinary teams and users. The primary objective is to ensure the seamless and efficient operation of our technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level support for both internal and external clients.
  • Conduct regular system checks and perform maintenance during scheduled support windows.
  • Ensure the integrity and security of data systems, recommending optimization solutions as necessary.
  • Schedule backups and verify the effectiveness of disaster recovery procedures.
  • Build and deploy new PCs and laptops.
  • Document IT-related processes and procedures comprehensively.
  • Proactively pursue further education in relevant systems administration and emerging technology trends.
  • Respond to position-related emergencies outside of regular hours.

Qualifications:

A degree in Computer Technology or a related IT field, or equivalent experience is required.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in VMware and Hyper-V virtual environments.
  • Experience with Windows Server, both physical and virtual machines.
  • Administers and monitors Azure solutions, including storage, identity, governance, virtual networks, and computing in a cloud environment.
  • Intermediate networking skills, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, Site-to-Site VPN, VLAN segmentation, ACLs, Next Generation Firewalls, IDS, IPS, packet filtering, deep packet inspection, application control, bandwidth management, and CAT5/5E/6 cabling.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Printer Services, and VPN.
  • Manage and maintain SAN Dell EMC, HP Nimble, and NAS storage systems.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues on servers and workstations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows 10 and 11.
  • Experience with Syslog, Event Log, and user event analysis.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience managing a cloud-based call center system, including RingCentral and Cisco Call Manager.
  • Ability to manage and configure firewalls, including Cisco Firepower and/or Palo Alto.
  • Proficient in PowerShell and scripting.
  • Experience with SolarWinds Orion and SEM for monitoring purposes.
  • CCNA certification is a plus.
  • Understanding of PCI compliance and related documentation and scans.
  • Familiarity with SendGrid SMTP.
