Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Systems Administrator to join our Houston-based team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the installation, management, security, and enhancement of our Microsoft client-server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. As part of a reputable organization, you will play a crucial role in our ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Microsoft Active Directory across various versions, including on-premise and Azure services, managing users, group policies, and security protocols.
  • Understand and implement core networking principles, including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS, to maintain seamless connectivity.
  • Utilize the ConnectWise Manage platform to monitor support tickets, ensuring prompt resolution and mentoring the HelpDesk team.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of system configurations and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure effective integration of systems and applications.
  • Implement SSL/TLS encryption and manage certificate installations.
  • Provide expert guidance on server systems, hardware, and software.
  • Build and manage Windows server virtual machines in VMware, adhering to best practices.
  • Ensure system security through regular updates and patch management.
  • Deliver advanced troubleshooting and resolution for server-related issues.
  • Oversee VMware server performance and coordinate upgrades.
  • Manage email systems, including Office 365.
  • Address malware containment and remediation across all platforms.
  • Monitor and maintain storage solutions as needed.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Security tools is advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in System Administration or Managed Service Provider environments.
  • At least 5 years of experience with core Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server and Azure/Office 365.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience with Cisco TAC is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Unified Communications and Webex is a plus.
  • Experience with compliance standards such as HIPAA/PCI is preferred.
  • Knowledge of backup solutions like Veeam is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

This position may involve occasional travel within a limited radius as necessary.
