Job Summary

The Utility Engagement Program Manager will oversee the planning and execution of utility capacity needs across QTS Data Centers. This role will ensure timely delivery of power to development sites, manage budgets, and lead standardization of utility substation design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure timely delivery of power to development sites.
  • Manage partners and consultants for electrical substation design and construction.
  • Lead standardization of utility substation design, including distribution feeds to multiple buildings.
  • Manage budgets and cost forecasting of utility projects.
  • Develop transformer and equipment specifications.
  • Procure substation long lead equipment and transformers.
  • Procure and manage construction of multiple substation sites simultaneously.
  • Track and report on status and schedule of power delivery timelines.
Requirements
  • Five or more years of medium/high voltage construction management experience.
  • Five or more years of experience running multiple projects simultaneously or related professional experience.
  • Knowledge of substation industry partners and transformer manufacturers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time or as needed to support projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with executives and collaborating effectively across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten plus years of electrical substation design or construction experience.
  • Experience as a licensed electrician engineer with focus on MV/HV work.
  • Technical expertise in High and Medium Voltage Electrical Design.
  • Experience managing large portfolios of work.
