The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is a distinguished, non-profit organization dedicated to education, history, and culture. Established in 1926, we manage one of the most extensive and renowned museum complexes globally, with a mission to ensure that future generations can learn from the past. Our efforts focus on the preservation and restoration of 18th-century Williamsburg, Virginia's colonial capital, where we aim to engage, inform, and inspire visitors about the historical significance of this area and the diverse individuals who contributed to the formation of a new nation. As the largest living history museum in the United States, our Historic Area spans 301 acres, featuring 88 original structures and 525 reconstructed buildings that reflect the 18th-century aesthetic through meticulous archaeological and architectural research. Our team consists of skilled interpreters and expert artisans who vividly recreate the 18th century for our guests. The Foundation also operates two prestigious museums, the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum and the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum, alongside a highly regarded research library, the John D Rockefeller Jr Library. Additionally, we offer five exceptional accommodations, including the Williamsburg Inn, Williamsburg Lodge Autograph Collection, the Giffin Hotel, the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotels and Suites, and the unique Colonial Houses within the Historic Area. Guests can also enjoy a variety of dining options at our on-site restaurants and taverns, which blend historically inspired cuisine with contemporary tastes. Each year, we welcome over 5 million visitors to Williamsburg and engage an additional 20 million through our digital platforms.

As an Event Service Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all catered food and beverage functions assigned to the banquet or special events departments are properly staffed, set up, and executed to the highest standards.

Key Qualifications:
  • Previous supervisory experience in banquet services is essential; experience in restaurant supervision is advantageous.
  • Proficient understanding of banquet service techniques, including terminology, a la carte service, food preparation, bartending, and wine service; ability to effectively communicate BEO information to staff.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Physical stamina is required to manage long hours on your feet, as well as the ability to lift and transport heavy trays and equipment.
  • Preferred educational background includes at least two years of college-level hospitality training.
  • Final candidates must present a valid driver's license and an original Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) transcript, not older than 30 days, covering the past seven years.
