Holthouse Carlin & Van Trigt LLP operates under a hybrid working model. Employees are expected to work at their designated office a minimum of two days per week, with the option to work in the office closest to their residence if necessary. Participation in required firm events and meetings is also expected.

As a Manager in our Tax service line, your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting comprehensive reviews of federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, flow-through entities, corporations, and trusts, along with related income tax workpapers.
  • Collaborating closely with clients to provide guidance on income tax matters and associated tax planning.
  • Overseeing the planning and scheduling of engagements and supervising workflow.
  • Researching complex technical tax issues and offering effective solutions.
  • Leading and mentoring teams of senior and staff accountants throughout the engagement process.
  • Ensuring the quality of work products.
  • Communicating progress to partners and serving as the liaison between partners and staff.
  • Coaching and mentoring individual team members and participating in performance evaluations.
  • Managing firm administrative functions and initiatives, including client billings.
To excel in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
  • Undergraduate degree; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • CPA certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in the taxation of partnerships, limited liability companies, and similar flow-through entities, as well as high net-worth individuals.
  • Strong organizational and management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and propose solutions to complex income tax challenges.
  • Demonstrated advanced project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in utilizing firm technology to enhance client service.
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills.
  • A strong team player focused on the growth and development of team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with GoSystem is a plus.

This salary range is specific to the state(s) listed and considers various factors in compensation decisions, including skill set, education, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate for this position is $140,000 to $180,000.
