We are in search of a proficient Surface Mount Technology Engineer to become a vital part of our team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement strategies for process development and capacity optimization in SMT assembly operations, including kitting, solder paste application, automated inspection, component placement, reflow soldering, and various inspection techniques.
  • Diagnose and resolve production and quality challenges.
  • Ensure that critical processes in the PCB assembly workflow are production-ready.
  • Conduct experiments to refine production methodologies, including solder paste selection, stencil design, feeder setup, and selective soldering methods.
  • Enhance machine configurations and programming sequences for optimal performance.
  • Investigate and identify root causes of equipment and process-related issues.
  • Prepare detailed pre and post-build Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reports with a focus on customer needs.
  • Utilize data files effectively to support the above tasks, including working with Gerber files, OB++, various CAD software, and 3D modeling tools such as Solidworks.
  • Establish secondary manufacturing processes, including rework procedures and BGA repair techniques.
  • Oversee and manage the cleaning processes for printed circuit assemblies (PCAs).
  • Interpret assembly and fabrication drawings and their specifications.
  • Collaborate directly with the engineering teams of clients to enhance designs and improve processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma with an associate degree; a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering or Technical field is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar industry.
  • Exemplary customer service skills.
