Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Project Accountant to join our accounting team in the Chicago, IL area. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up new projects in our Job Cost System, processing payroll, insurance, and overhead allocations, and ensuring compliance with Path Construction's requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up new projects in Job Cost System
  • Process payroll, insurance, and overhead allocations
  • Process and review general ledger postings for construction draws
  • Ensure Subcontractor/Supplier Waivers of Lien are received and correct
  • Process accounts receivable and understand construction billing and collections
  • Assist in follow-up on outstanding accounts receivable invoices
  • Ensure contracts and change orders are processed accurately and timely
  • Analyze project variances and work with the project team to ensure corrective action
  • Report on project profitability to management
  • Close out project accounts upon project completion
Requirements
  • College degree in accounting/business administration or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a construction project cost environment
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, Sage Construction CRE 300, and Paychex
