Position Overview

KEY ROLE:

  • Deliver guidance and mentorship to Early Learning Professionals, ensuring adherence to YWCA program standards and protocols.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of high school or equivalent educational background.
  • Further education or training in early childhood education or related child/family disciplines.
  • A minimum of three years' experience as a Child Development Specialist or Lead Teacher in a licensed childcare facility.
  • Familiarity with Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, and Ages and Stages Questionnaire.
  • Compliance with Bureau of Child and Adult Licensing standards.
  • Possession of CDA certification.
  • Successful completion of criminal and child abuse background checks.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Successful completion of required skills assessments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support children in their daily activities.
  • Guide Early Learning Professionals in executing educational activities.
  • Oversee children's activities to ensure safety and promote social interaction.
  • Establish positive connections with families and community stakeholders.
  • Engage in mealtime activities and participate in field trips.
  • Commit to ongoing education in anti-bias practices and gender equity.
  • Monitor children's health and communicate findings as necessary.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Complete mandatory training and coaching hours.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and child abuse reporting protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with program participants and staff members.
  • Carry out assigned responsibilities diligently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work may occur at various YWCA locations, off-site, or during outdoor events.
  • Physical tasks may include sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
  • Engagement in diverse activities and environments is expected.
  • Specific vision capabilities may be required for the role.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:

  • Introduction to YWCA policies and mission.
  • Training in Racial Justice.
  • Pronoun usage training.
  • Education on Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Confidentiality.
  • Ongoing training throughout employment.
