Job Overview

The Financial Operations Supervisor will manage the organization's accounts receivable functions. This position entails overseeing student financial accounts, ensuring prompt invoicing and collection of fees, and maintaining precise financial documentation. The Supervisor will collaborate with various departments to enhance financial planning and deliver outstanding service to students and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Invoicing and Billing:

  • Oversee the creation and distribution of tuition and fee statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and promptness in billing operations.

Collections Oversight:

  • Manage collection efforts for overdue accounts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances.
  • Coordinate with external collection agencies as needed.

Student Financial Accounts:

  • Maintain and update records of student financial accounts.
  • Address and resolve inquiries related to billing and payments.
  • Provide financial guidance to students and families regarding payment alternatives.

Financial Analysis:

  • Prepare and evaluate accounts receivable reports for management review.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable figures to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Policy Formulation:

  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to accounts receivable.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and institutional policies.

Team Management:

  • Supervise accounts receivable staff, including training and performance assessments.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Registrar, Financial Aid, and other departments to ensure efficient financial operations.
  • Engage in cross-departmental initiatives to enhance financial processes.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles.
  • Experience in a higher education environment is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and accounts receivable practices.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team.
