About the Role

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Intake Specialist to join our team at the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP). As a key member of our consumer hotline team, you will be responsible for answering calls, processing consumer complaints, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with consumers and businesses to resolve complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Analyze and document consumer complaints, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain accurate records and provide reports as needed
  • Provide training and support to colleagues as needed
  • Perform other tasks and assignments as directed by management
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent, and one year of satisfactory clerical experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes per minute
