Job Overview

ZL Chemicals LTD is seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for supporting the growth and defense of our market share through various activities such as attending client meetings, presenting to clients on our portfolio, identifying technical solutions, and providing product or application training internally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business for our organization's products and services.
  • Work closely with the Sales team to support the launch of new products and services into the market at all phases, from idea conception to final execution.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of our products, including Friction Reducers, their applications, and customer expectations.
  • Develop testing protocols for client-specific testing needs and work with the technical team to ensure results are valid and completed within the appropriate timeframe.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints related to product performance.
  • Coordinate with the R&D team and relate the product vision to them from the commercial team, and engage with them on product development ideas, product improvements, status updates, and prioritization.
  • Communicate with Sales Management on the progress of development from the Technical/R&D team.
  • Identify advantages and weaknesses of our products and services relative to competitive offerings.
  • Work with clients on trial opportunities and support them in the field.
  • Work with the Technical team to identify opportunities for and contribute to writing technical papers for industry publication.
  • Supply the sales team with oral or written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, and competitive activities within the industry.
  • Perform any and all job duties as assigned by your manager and the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or other related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in upstream oil & gas applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship building ability.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Proactive and independent.

Travel Requirements: Approximately 50% travel required, but could be higher for periods of time.
