PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The Front Desk Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of individuals utilizing services at the shelter. This position requires treating all clients with dignity and respect while upholding the organization's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include providing crisis intervention, information, and referrals to clients seeking assistance. Any unique or urgent matters should be promptly reported to the case worker or supervisory staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Foster and maintain professional relationships with all clients, adhering to confidentiality and professional guidelines.
  2. Ensure the security and safety of the facility by screening all visitors prior to entry.
  3. Understand and enforce all facility rules and regulations.
  4. Keep all program materials organized and accessible.
  5. Participate in all assigned staff meetings.
  6. Remain alert and attentive while on duty to ensure client safety and security.
  7. Document relevant information in a timely manner.
  8. Exhibit regular and punctual attendance.
  9. Perform janitorial duties, including maintaining the front office area and managing waste disposal.
  10. Assist with basic data entry, ensuring attention to detail.
  11. Provide administrative and program support to case management personnel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  1. Ability to comprehend tasks and seek clarification as needed.
  2. May involve extended periods of sitting at a desk, utilizing a computer, and interacting with clients. Must be capable of walking, sitting, standing, and bending on an intermittent or continuous basis. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs may be required.
  3. Regularly required to sit, use hands for various tasks, communicate verbally, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision. Personal electronic devices are prohibited during shifts to maintain focus.
  4. Work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment with interruptions from phones, clients, and competing deadlines.
  5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, making decisions in unique or complex situations as necessary.
