We prioritize the safety of our workforce by implementing health measures, including the provision of face masks, multiple handwashing stations, and rigorous sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager will support the Operations team at I. Rice & Co. across all production sectors. A background in food manufacturing is crucial for this role. This is a full-time position with daytime hours, primarily from Monday to Friday.

The ideal candidate must be capable of working in a dynamic environment, performing a variety of tasks, and embracing new challenges daily.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehend the proper functioning of kettle and filling machinery to produce products that meet the standards set by the Operations and Quality Control teams.
  • Ensure the correct handling of ingredients, packaging, and other materials.
  • Monitor processing parameters, including temperature and cook times, to maintain product quality.
  • Stay informed about the daily production schedule.
  • Manage and supervise temporary staff to ensure proper attendance and role fulfillment.
  • Oversee and facilitate training for new and temporary employees on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and company policies.
  • Monitor floor staff to ensure compliance with assignments and commitment to food safety and quality.
  • Inspect the quality and consistency of finished products and report any concerns to the Operations and Quality Control teams.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

The candidate should possess a fundamental understanding of the responsibilities and equipment associated with this role. Training will be provided as necessary.

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience in managing and supervising staff is essential.
  • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude for minor adjustments are necessary.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is required.
  • Adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and endure long periods of standing.
