Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee the accounting operations for our diverse real estate portfolio, which includes both multi-family and commercial properties.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports along with necessary supporting schedules for a designated portfolio of properties.
  • Ensure accurate recording of fixed asset transactions, including acquisitions, capitalizations, dispositions, transfers, and depreciation in the fixed asset management system.
  • Reconcile mortgage and escrow account balances to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and record monthly journal entries in the general ledger.
  • Conduct monthly bank statement reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial packages for external CPA firms.
  • Support the month-end closing process.
  • Facilitate the recording of real estate transactions, including purchases and sales.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the real estate industry.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate through ambiguity.
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities under pressure.
  • Experience with public accounting firms is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with YARDI and MRI software is preferred.
