Key Responsibilities:
1. General Ledger Management:
- Perform GL accruals and reclassifications.
- Conduct account reconciliations and audits.
- Collaborate with property management to analyze actual versus budget variances.
- Reconcile monthly bank statements with the general ledger.
- Prepare schedules and work papers for annual audits.
- Reconcile mortgage transactions with bank records.
2. Audit and Tax Preparation:
- Prepare necessary schedules and work papers for audits.
3. Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Review internal controls for compliance.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP accounting standards.
- Conduct cash and escrow analyses.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
4. Financial Reporting:
- Review, prepare, and analyze monthly financial statements on an accrual basis.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for clients.
- Calculate monthly management fees for billing purposes.
5. Additional Responsibilities:
- Address accounting-related inquiries from sites.
- Perform accounts receivable functions for designated properties.
- Respond to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure security deposit accounts are adequately funded.
- Maintain and monitor fixed assets, preparing monthly depreciation entries.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous recordkeeping.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work various hours as needed.
- Proficient multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Ability to meet and exceed deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and familiarity with SAGE 300 CRE, Sage Fixed Assets Depreciation, and OneSite.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and LIHTC is advantageous.
- Positive demeanor, integrity, and honesty are essential.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend, kneel, stretch, climb stairs and ladders, squat, and lift up to fifteen (15) pounds.
